Perhaps you should say which version of NitrogenOS you lot're using. Also request in Nitrogen'south thread has a higher chance of answers for your question.

I wonder if y'all think wipe is the same equally format. That is non always the case. Yous need a real format of the data partition.

I wonder if you lot think wipe is the aforementioned equally format. That is not always the case. You need a real format of the data partition.

Additionally TWRP's format role is cleaved.

Attempt "fastboot format userdata" if TWRP isn't properly formatting.
  • #half-dozen
Additionally TWRP'south format function is broken.

Can you elaborate on this?

I usually try to erase and format in fastboot anyway. Simply fastboot throws a can't format raw partition or something like that.

format (not wipe) information or use oreo builds
i've already done information technology
upgrade your twrp if information technology keeps failing, i'm using the latest release

Tin someone assistance hither? I followed all of the necessary steps to install LineageOS 16 on the Nexus half-dozen using TWRP and I am having this problem. I am not supremely skilled when information technology comes to these things, just I did it very advisedly and made sure to read the instructions many times and go step by step as indicated. I was really looking forwards to injecting new life into my N6, but now I basically have a brick. :(

Without explaining what the problem is, it is difficult to help you lot. Since yous are using TWRP, you lot should have backup to restore.

Thank you for replying. I accept the exact problem described by OP. And yes, I accept a backup, so technically not bricked, you lot are right. But very disappointed that post-obit the flashing instructions let to this trouble. Thanks once more.

With not bad respect, I dubiety that you lot actually followed the instructions as closely as you lot remember. Unless your N6 has a hardware problem, the instructions will exist correct - and I say this not knowing which instructions you followed, only whatever bad instructions are more often than not corrected pretty quickly.
To recap (and anyone please correct or amend anything for accuracy - I'll write this from memory):
- download TWRP three.3.1 from https://twrp.me/motorola/motorolanexus6.html
- wink it in Bootloader - fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
- while you're in that location, format information - fastboot format userdata (you can likewise do this in TWRP, but as Elektroschmock says that TWRP formatting isn't perfect...)
- boot into recovery
- wipe everything - all partitions
- transfer your ROM & Gapps - and Magisk if you want root - to your device (recovery allows a straight connection to your PC)
- flash ROM, Gapps, Magisk
- reboot
- report back
Edit: One more matter just in case. If you get a "can't mount system" message, go back to TWRP main screen, Mount, and ensure that the "system read-only" checkbox is unchecked.

Hello, that is exactly what I did! I accept repeated the procedure with LineageOS 15.1 (and the matching GApps) and it worked. Might this exist an encryption problem related to LinerageOS 16? And thank yous for responding.

Incidentally, what GApps parcel is the one most recommend? I used Open up GApps Stock, but some of the Google Apps are acting upwards.

I use Opengapps Pico Arm (not Arm64).
All I tin can say is that I've installed LineageOS 16 on ii N5s, 2 N4s and a Lenovo 8" tablet, all with no bug at all. Your problem is non device-specific, since the original query was non for an N6, and I myself know about this "decadent" trouble because I suffered from it myself a twelvemonth or so ago on my ain N6. The procedure I specified has always worked 100% for me every fourth dimension.

Looking at the LineageOS 16 thread, there is a specific TWRP linked, and MindTheGapps is too linked which is different than openGapps.

If yous haven't decrypted past FORMATING user data (not wiping), that may besides be a problem.

Thanks all. I will effort some of these things tomorrow. I honey this community! :D

With great respect, I dubiousness that you lot actually followed the instructions as closely equally yous think. Unless your N6 has a hardware problem, the instructions will be correct - and I say this not knowing which instructions you followed, but any bad instructions are by and large corrected pretty quickly.
To recap (and anyone please correct or amend anything for accuracy - I'll write this from retention):
- download TWRP 3.iii.1 from https://twrp.me/motorola/motorolanexus6.html
- flash it in Bootloader - fastboot wink recovery twrp.img
- while y'all're at that place, format data - fastboot format userdata (you tin also do this in TWRP, just equally Elektroschmock says that TWRP formatting isn't perfect...)
- kick into recovery
- wipe everything - all partitions
- transfer your ROM & Gapps - and Magisk if you want root - to your device (recovery allows a direct connection to your PC)
- wink ROM, Gapps, Magisk
- reboot
- report back
Edit: One more affair just in case. If you lot go a "can't mount organization" bulletin, become back to TWRP main screen, Mount, and ensure that the "organisation read-only" checkbox is unchecked.

OK, I did all this, only have been stuck at the Google screen upon reboot for 30 minutes. Is this bad news, or this normal?

Thanks. There is still some kind of a problem. Afterward I finish flashing ROM and Gapps using the instructions, and so reboot (later wiping cache/davlik, right?), I become the Lineage OS logo in motility, and and so finally boots into recovery (not organization) once again. Not sure what to exercise. Mayhap endeavor a dissimilar build? I am currently using the latest LineageOS 16 nightly.
